IB Prep Class – Terms and Conditions

IB English A – Summer Prep Class

1. Course Overview

The IB English Language and Literature Summer Prep Class will begin from the 7th July 2025. The group class includes:

  • Two live 90-minute lessons per week
  • Weekly homework task
  • Regular exam practice and feedback
  • Access to lesson recordings and materials until completion of final IB exams
  • All lessons will be recorded and held on Microsoft Teams
  • The class will have approximately 5-8 students

2. Payment and Refund Policy

  • The total cost per student is £600 GBP, payable in advance.
  • If a parent decides to cancel the group class, you will receive a 50% refund of any remaining lessons at the rate of £48 per lesson, up to a maximum of £300 GBP refund.
  • No refunds are available for sickness or one-off missed lessons. This is because all lessons are recorded and materials are shared, so students will still have full access to the class they missed.
  • All payments must be made in advance; students who have not completed payment will not have access to lessons or materials.

3. Feedback Policy

  • Students must submit assignments before the deadline to receive teacher feedback.
  • Only assigned tasks can be submitted; students may not substitute alternative work.
  • The teacher reserves the right to refuse marking if a student does not follow the assignment instructions or submission dates.
  • The teacher will not mark additional work not set for group classes due to time constraints.

4. Attendance and Access

  • If a student is unable to attend a live session due to illness or other reasons, no refund will be given.
  • Lesson recordings and materials will be provided for students to catch up in their own time.
  • Lesson recordings and materials will remain accessible until July 2027.

5. Technology Requirements

  • Students must have a working laptop, internet connection, microphone, and camera to participate in live lessons.

6. Intellectual Property

  • Course materials and recordings are for enrolled students only and must not be shared with others.

7. Data Privacy

  • Email addresses will be shared with Microsoft Teams to set up lessons.
  • Student data will not be sold to third parties or used for third-party advertising.

8. Code of Conduct

  • All participants are expected to maintain a respectful and supportive environment. Disruptive or disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the class without a refund.
  • Please arrive on time for each class to avoid disruptions and to ensure you get the most out of the session.
  • We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Participants will be notified of any changes, and continued participation in the class signifies acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Data Protection

  • Your personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We will not share your details with third parties without your consent.

10. Class Recordings

  • By enrolling in our group classes, you grant us permission to record the sessions. These recordings will be shared on a closed platform accessible only to your classmates.
  • The recorded videos are intended to help you and your classmates review and catch up on any missed content. Your privacy is important to us, and these recordings will not be shared outside of the class group without your explicit consent.

11. Last Week – Class Day Change

  • Group class will conclude on Tuesday 12th August 2026
  • On the last week, the lessons will happen on Monday and Tuesday instead.
  • This is because students attending DCB will return to school on Thursday 14th August.
