Masterclass – Terms & Conditions
First Language English Masterclass – March-April 2025
1. Course Overview
The IGCSE First Language English Masterclass (0500/0990) will run from March 3rd until April 30th, 2025. The program includes:
- Two live 60-minute lessons per week (total of 18 live classes).
- Classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays at 13:30-14:30GMT, remaining at GMT even when the UK clocks go forward to British Summer Time (BST) on 30th March.
- One pre-recorded video lesson per week.
- Weekly written exam practice with personalized feedback.
- Access to lesson recordings and materials until July 2026.
- All lessons will be recorded and held on Microsoft Teams. Email addresses will be shared with this third party for lesson setup.
2. Payment and Refund Policy
- The total cost of the course is £360 GBP, payable in advance.
- A full refund is available if cancellation occurs before March 1st, 2025.
- If cancellation occurs after March 1st, 2025, a 50% refund of remaining lessons will be provided at a rate of £20 per lesson.
- After April 1st, 2025, no refunds will be issued.
- Example #1: I bought Masterclass in February but on March 2nd I cancelled. Since this is after March 1st, I’m entitled to a 50% refund of unused lessons. 18 lessons are remaining at 20 GBP per lesson = 360 GBP divided by half = refund of 180 GBP
- Example #2: I bought Masterclass in February and attended all my classes until April 15th. On April 15th, I cancel. I will not receive any refund as the cancellation date is after April 1st.
- All payments must be made in advance; students who have not completed payment will not have access to lessons or materials.
3. Feedback Policy
- Students must submit assignments before the deadline to receive teacher feedback.
- Only assigned tasks can be submitted; students may not substitute alternative work.
- The teacher reserves the right to refuse marking if a student does not follow the assignment instructions or submission dates.
4. Attendance and Access
- If a student is unable to attend a live session due to illness or other reasons, no refund will be given.
- Lesson recordings and materials will be provided for students to catch up in their own time.
- Lesson recordings and materials will remain accessible until July 2026.
5. Technology Requirements
- Students must have a working laptop, internet connection, microphone, and camera to participate in live lessons.
6. Intellectual Property
- Course materials and recordings are for enrolled students only and must not be shared with others.
7. Data Privacy
- Email addresses will be shared with Microsoft Teams to set up lessons.
- Student data will not be sold to third parties or used for third-party advertising.
8. Code of Conduct
- All participants are expected to maintain a respectful and supportive environment. Disruptive or disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the class without a refund.
- Please arrive on time for each class to avoid disruptions and to ensure you get the most out of the session.
- We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Participants will be notified of any changes, and continued participation in the class signifies acceptance of the updated terms.
9. Data Protection
- Your personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We will not share your details with third parties without your consent.
10. Class Recordings
- By enrolling in our group classes, you grant us permission to record the sessions. These recordings will be shared on a closed platform accessible only to your classmates.
- The recorded videos are intended to help you and your classmates review and catch up on any missed content. Your privacy is important to us, and these recordings will not be shared outside of the class group without your explicit consent.
